- 1 + 1 > 2 diagnostic upgrade · CRP is sensitive but less specific; PCT is more specific for bacterial infection but rises later. Combined, they complement each other on speed, accuracy and stability.
- Bacterial / viral triage · C + T1 + T2 all visible suggests bacterial inflammation; C + T1 only suggests viral — giving a basis for antibiotic decisions.
